Privacy information
Who we are
Griff Goes Global is operated by Gruffydd Watts-Joyce. For privacy questions or requests about your information, email griffgoesglobal@gmail.com.
The website
SiteGround hosts the website and its resource files. Technical requests may be recorded for operation and security, including IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. With your optional Statistics consent, Google Analytics measures visits to eligible public pages through Google Site Kit. Advertising pixels and Travelpayouts tracking remain disabled.
Optional visitor statistics
Google Analytics receives a published page’s canonical address and title, browser and device information, and technical request information such as your IP address. Analytics cookies distinguish visits and sessions. We deliberately send a blank page referrer, and do not send email addresses, resource-access tokens or raw internal-search text. Only a fixed allowlist of our Pinterest source, social medium, campaign name and matching Pin identifiers can be measured on eligible public campaign articles. These campaign identifiers are sent separately from the clean canonical page address. Other query strings, search and fragment-bearing pages, private resource access, resource requests and pack pages are excluded. Enhanced automatic measurements and advertising personalisation are disabled.
No Analytics tag is released before you allow the Statistics category and its Google Analytics service. You can withdraw that choice using Cookie Preferences; this stops tracking and removes the site’s Analytics cookies after the page reloads. Your choice is separate from email permission and does not remove necessary resource-access cookies. Google processes Analytics information under its own privacy policy, including processing that may take place outside the UK.
Requested resource emails
You can request the Solo-Trip Planning Pack, Travel-Blogger Starter Toolkit or both by email. We use your address to deliver the pack you choose, with an access link in one resource email. You do not need to confirm a newsletter subscription to receive it. Email acceptance is not a guarantee of inbox arrival; please also check Spam or Junk. Requesting a pack does not enrol you in a newsletter.
Resource fulfilment uses MailerLite. For a request, it processes your email address, the requested pack and delivery/access information. The website keeps a request reference, provider record reference, requested-pack and permission information, timestamps and access-link expiry. These records help provide the requested pack, prevent accidental duplicate sends and respect unsubscribe or delivery-suppression status. The public resource form asks for an email address; it does not need a name.
We use your permission to send the resource you request. This is separate from permission for future newsletters. Necessary service, abuse-prevention and suppression records are used for our legitimate interests in operating a reliable service and respecting people’s choices. You can ask us to stop using your information for future messages by using the email’s unsubscribe link or contacting us.
Newsletter status
On the Blogger Toolkit request form, you may separately choose occasional Griff Goes Global emails about travel blogging. The checkbox is optional and unchecked. Opening your pack does not confirm this choice: you can confirm only the selected Travel blogging interest with a separate button on your emailed resource access page. We record the wording, choice, request time and confirmation time for this permission. You can withdraw it using the email unsubscribe link or contacting us; another resource request does not silently reactivate an unsubscribed address. Travel-planning, both-interest and newsletter-only signup are not open. No previous resource recipients are automatically enrolled.
Who processes the information
SiteGround processes website requests and stored site records. MailerLite processes requested-resource email and delivery records. MailerLite can record email-link activity; opening an email and clicking a link are different events. Open tracking is disabled for this resource workflow. Links in the email may pass through MailerLite before reaching the resource page. Your own email service also handles messages sent to your inbox.
MailerLite states that its storage centre is in the European Union. Its data-processing terms also describe sub-processors and safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses and a UK Addendum where applicable. See MailerLite’s data-processing terms and privacy policy, or contact us for information about this service’s processing arrangements. This notice does not claim that every provider operation takes place only in the UK.
If you email our contact address, your message and contact details are used to respond and handle the matter you raise. External websites you choose to visit follow their own privacy practices.
How long information is kept
Resource access links are valid for 48 hours from the request. This is an access limit, not a promise that all records are deleted after 48 hours.
Request and delivery records remain stored to handle access and service questions, prevent duplicate or abusive requests and respect message preferences. Retention depends on whether those purposes still require the information and whether a privacy request or legal obligation applies. Suppression information may need to remain so that an unsubscribed or undeliverable address is not silently reactivated. There is currently no automatic deletion of all request or provider records when an access link expires.
Hosting-log retention is determined by the hosting service’s operation and security arrangements; an exact duration has not been confirmed for this site. Contact us about a particular record or retention question. Do not send resource-access links or tokens in a public message.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us to ask about access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw permission for future resource emails at any time using the email’s unsubscribe link or our contact address. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of processing already carried out. We may need to verify that a request comes from the person concerned before acting on it.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Cookie choices and email permission are separate; see Cookies for the necessary site preferences and resource-access cookie.
